All Inclusive Salary package (R): R706 152 – R822 237 per annum

Objective: The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) is a statutory public entity, an oversight body of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Act, No. 67 of 2008. The entity is charged with developing, fostering and maintaining an integrated and transparent national framework for the recognition of learning achievements, ensuring that:
• South African qualifications meet appropriate criteria and are internationally comparable.
• The country’s qualifications are of acceptable quality.
• The quality of education and training is enhanced.
• Access, mobility and progression within education, training and career paths are realised.
SAQA seeks to appoint a Team Leader: Authentication Services to coordinate and oversee processes and resources to ensure the proper administration of verification and evaluation processes of both South African and foreign qualifications. This position will report to the Manager: Authentication Services.
| Requirements are: |
• An appropriate, recognised qualification at NQF Level 7 or equivalent. • A relevant NQF level 8 qualification will be an advantage. • Three years’ relevant supervisory exposure or 8 years’ experience within SAQA of which 3 years within the Foreign Qualifications or National Verifications services. • Experience and exposure in the Education sector will be an advantage. • Proficiency in one or more of the following languages will be a strong advantage: French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, or Russian. |
| Duties : |
• Perform monitoring and reporting on set targets and standards. • Ensure that the service rendered through the evaluation function meets expectations and is continuously improved. • Ensure accurate compilation, verification and analysis of daily statistical reports. • Ensure that sufficient capacity is available to meet the required targets. • Provide guidance on and manage the appropriate use of knowledge resources. • Monitor and contribute to continuous improvement and availability of the AS processes by identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency. • Ensure compliance with processes, policies and procedures. • Implement plans and policies. • Minimise risk by ensuring that relevant procedures are in place and adhered to. • Strengthen and maintain relationships with existing information partners. • Obtain verifications of qualification achievements from information partners. • Establish initial contact with clients by offering specialised knowledge of SAQA’s services and products. • Oversee the optimised utilisation of the human resources available to the team. • Manage work of subordinate staff to ensure that productivity outputs are met. • Oversee the ongoing development of staff. |
