PAYROLL AND MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT
All Inclusive Salary package (R): R706 152 – R822 237 per annum
Benefits: All-inclusive remuneration package of R706 152 – R822 237 per annum. The successful candidate may structure the total package for a 13th cheque. The employer’s contribution towards Housing, Medical Aid, and Pension is included in the total package.

Objective: The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) is a statutory public entity, an oversight body of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Act, No. 67 of 2008. The entity is charged with developing, fostering and maintaining an integrated and transparent national framework for the recognition of learning achievements, ensuring that:
• South African qualifications meet appropriate criteria and are internationally comparable.
• The country’s qualifications are of acceptable quality.
• The quality of education and training is enhanced.
• Access, mobility and progression within education, training and career paths are realised.
SAQA seeks to appoint a Payroll and Management Accountant to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and oversee the administration of payroll processes and management accounting functions. Reporting to the Manager: Finance, this position will provide financial insights to support decision-making and ensure timely payments to employees and third parties, while maintaining the integrity of financial records.
Requirements are: |
• An appropriate, recognised qualification at NQF Level 7. • A relevant NQF level 8 qualification and membership with a professionally recognised accounting body will be an advantage. • Three years’ relevant work experience. • Experience and exposure in the education sector will be an advantage. |
Duties : |
• Capture, update, and process payroll data, including changes and adjustments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Calculate payroll-related calculations where required. • Perform payroll runs and distribute payslips and IRP5/IT3(a) certificates. • Process payroll journals and reconciliations. • Prepare financial reports for Board/ARC. • Contribution to unqualified audit opinion. • Processing SAQA employees` pensions and filing SARS returns to ensure compliance. • Assist in the compilation of financial statements in relevant sections. • Assist in confirming budget for procurement activities. • Building a mutual relationship with internal and external clients and timeously resolving client`s inquiries. • Training, Coaching, and mentoring of interns. • Assist in compiling employee costs reports for various submissions eg. AFS, Annual Report, STATS SA. |
