All Inclusive Salary package (R): R617 009 – R808 775 Per Annum

Objective: The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) is a statutory public entity that operates under the NQF Act, No. 67 of 2008. SAQA seeks to appoint a Finance Specialist: Management Accountant, who will ensure that SAQA’s payroll function is accurately administered by processing payments to employees and third parties and also ensuring that the management accounting function is accurately administered. The incumbent must perform such other duties as may be required by the Manager: Finance from time to time.


Requirements are: The most eligible candidate must hold an appropriate recognised qualification in Finance, or related field at NQF Level 6 on the 10 Level NQF or Level 5 on the 8 Level NQF, or equivalent.
An NQF Level 7 qualification will be an added advantage.
A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in the finance environment, and 2 years of experience in payroll administration, specifically in Sage 300 People, and sound knowledge of income tax legislation is essential for this position.
More than 2 years of supervisory experience in the finance environment and payroll administration experience will be an advantage.
The incumbent must have a good knowledge and understanding of GRAP/GAAP accounting principles, SAQA policies, and procedures, PFMA/treasury requirements, ACCPAC, PPPFA, accounting systems, and Supply Chain Management.
Financial management, leadership, good communication, project management, and analytical skills should be the strengths of those aspiring for this appointment.
Duties : • Correctly calculate and allocate income to be recognised
• Correctly process the refunds that are paid to clients
• Conduct reconciliation of the deferred income account
• Prepare the staffing budget for the organisation
• Prepare the quarterly reports for submission to National Treasury and DHET
• Assist in preparing the annual financial statements
• Update payroll information as per amendments and input received from the People Management unit within specified deadlines
• Calculate statutory deductions/payments and process for payment in terms of policy and legislation
• Administer the monthly payroll in terms of meeting deadlines and reporting requirements
• Process the required changes of details on the payroll
• Ensure that SAQA complies with the requirements and recommendations of the relevant statutory bodies
• Perform year-end statutory and non-statutory reporting and reconciliations
