All Inclusive Salary package (R): R 779 715 – R 1 021 923

Objective: The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) is a statutory public entity that operates under the NQF Act, No. 67 of 2008. SAQA seeks to appoint a Manager: Communications who will manage relationships with the media, arrange press conferences, and manage the content on SAQA’s digital platforms. Furthermore, the successful candidate will develop and execute SAQA’s brand strategy and work with the NQF partners to promote the NQF to policy implementers, policymakers, and policy beneficiaries.


Requirements are: The most eligible candidate must hold an appropriate recognised qualification at NQF Level 7 on the 10 Level NQF or Level 6 on the 8 Level NQF, or equivalent in communication, public relations, and/or journalism.
A minimum of 3 years of people, stakeholders, or project management experience in communication, public relations, stakeholder relations, advocacy, or related function is a requirement.
A demonstrated ability to craft press statements is essential. A postgraduate qualification at NQF Level 8 on the 10 Level NQF or Level 7 on the 8 Level NQF, or equivalent, is an advantage.
Characteristics of a transformational leader with strong managerial skills, a clear vision, and focused action would position the candidate favourably.
Duties : • Develop communications strategies to advance SAQA’s aims and objectives
• Proactively align, integrate, and balance all messaging across SAQA and multiple communication channels to ensure information is conveyed to audiences with differing needs, motivations, and perspectives
• Oversee the strategic digital marketing strategy and success across SAQA’s website, emails, blogs, paid advertisements/social media, and technology
• Oversee the management of events and ensure that all events run smoothly, are strategically aligned to the communication strategic plan, and that the deliverables are met
• Develop and implement plans for constituent messaging in all digital channels as well as best-in-class processes to collect data, derive insights, and inform SAQA’s content strategy and digital communication decisions
• Oversee the development and implementation of internal communication policies, procedures, and processes
