Objective: The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) is a statutory public entity that
operates under the NQF Act 67 of 2008. SAQA seeks to appoint an Executive:
Governance, People, and Stakeholders to lead, manage and facilitate the effective
functioning and implementation of the SAQA’s governance structures, to have
oversight of risk management across the organisation, and to ensure good
governance. The successful candidate will lead and direct all units in the Division of
Governance, People, and Stakeholders. This person will also support the work of the
Chief Executive Officer regarding strategy formulation, reporting, stakeholder
management, and monitoring. A comprehensive competency assessment will be conducted for short-listed
candidates.

The most eligible candidate must hold an appropriate recognised post-graduate qualification at NQF Level 8 on the 10 level NQF (or Level 7 on the 8 Level NQF) or equivalent in a related field. A minimum of 7 years’ senior management experience in medium to large, diversified, and complex organisations, working with shared services, and 3 years or more experience as an executive will be an added advantage. The incumbent must have a good knowledge and proven experience of events management, principles and practice of corporate governance, people management, business development, protocols, and resource management. Characteristics of a transformational leader with strong managerial skills, a clear vision, and focused action would position the candidate favourably. |
| Duties : |
SAQA`s Strategic Planning and Strategic Project Management • Keep abreast of relevant researched information regarding changes in qualifications, competitors, and other relevant market players for input into strategic planning and strategy reviews • Conduct analysis, prepare business cases if required, and perform business intelligence research in partnership with other stakeholders SAQA Operational Planning and Performance Monitoring • Engage with Divisional Executives to ensure alignment and achievement of deliverables • Maintain systems and processes to monitor organisational performance Management of Executive Office and Board processes • Coordinate the work of the NQF Forum and CEO Committee and ensure that all tasks relating to the office of the CEO are done • Manage the Board secretariat function Enterprise Risk Management, Auditing processes, and Legal Service Coordination • Conduct research to stay abreast of risk management trends, strategies, and mitigation mechanisms • Provide advice on and assist with resolving Corporate Governance issues Coordination of SAQA reports • Coordinate information from a wide range of sources, collate and compile relevant documents • Co-ordinate, facilitate and undertake the processes for writing submissions, reports, and presentations for the CEO and the Board in collaboration with the CEO and Division Executives Management of the Governance, People, and Stakeholders Division • Manage the provision of appropriate documentation, accurate records, and logistics in support of the CEO’s relationship with stakeholders, committees, and forums that deal with the CEO • Compile a comprehensive budget to determine and ensure that the financial requirements for the Governance, People, and Stakeholder Relations Division are met |
