Objective: A vacancy for a Deputy Director exists within the Directorate: Information Technology.
The person will be required to design, develop, implement and maintain, an information system/s that meets the needs of SAQA.

The most eligible candidate should have an appropriate Bachelors degree (NQF level 7) or equivalent in a field related to the job with five (5) years management experience. Further prerequisites relating to experiences for this position are five (5) years working experience in IT systems administration and information systems. Added advantages: three (3) years experience in Java programming. The PFMA, and other relevant Government Regulations and policies and procedures related to contract management and information technology are also prerequisites. |
Duties : |
The main duties of this position are to: - Conduct System analysis, Joint Application Design (JAD), analyse current systems, gather user requirements and design information systems that meets SAQA needs and requirements - Plan, design, develop / acquire, implement, maintain, monitor, support and upgrade multi-platform information technology business systems. - Maintain and administer applications in a multi-platform ICT environment (MS Windows, Oracle, LINUX) and provide user support. - Collate the data and generate reports timeously utilising the information in accordance with SAQA policies and procedures. - Keep up-to-date with the most recent Information System trends and developments and advise the Director: IT and SAQA Executives on how new technological solutions and their implementation will meet business and systems requirements. - Provide/install system(s) as and when required by users in terms of policy and procedures. - Provide software and hardware upgrades according to organisational requirements. - Provide ad hoc user support and training to enhance correct and optimal utilisation of system(s). - Resolve individual or group problems associated with usage of desktop and associated equipment within the specified IT turnaround times. - Ensure consistent adherence to SAQA IT and network security policy by users - Manage IT budget and human resources in line with SAQA policies and the applicable regulations. - Perform such other related duties as may be required by the Director: Information Technology from time to time. |
