Objective: A vacancy exists within the Directorate: Foreign Qualifications, Evaluation and Advisory Services for a person who will oversee and coordinate the work of a team of evaluators who render a foreign qualifications evaluation and advisory service to the public by locating foreign qualifications within the NQF.


Requirements are: Eligible candidates will have a relevant qualification at NQF Level 6 or equivalent, with three years' relevant experience, preferably in education, human or social sciences, of which at least two in the foreign qualification evaluation environment and including some supervision of people and processes.
Linguistic proficiency (English), analytical, computer literacy, communication, time management, problem solving, presentation, conflict handling, business writing, networking, supervisory management, mentoring and coaching, a sense of urgency, attention to detail, a methodical disposition, good interpersonal relations and a strong adherence to strong organisational values should be among the strengths of those aspiring for appointment.
Duties : Ensure effective workflow and quality delivery in the unit to support the smooth functioning of the total production cycle in the sub-directorate
- Monitor and guide the daily processes which provide for the processing of applications for the evaluation of foreign qualifications
- Minimise risk by ensuring that up to date procedures are in place, relevant and adhered to
Ensure the availability of records and statistical data to inform management reporting and planning
- Ensure the accurate compilation / verification of statistical records and other information trends, where necessary
- Collect, analyse, organise and critically evaluate statistics in order to assist the DD: Evaluation to put together standard reports as required at month-end or on an ad hoc basis
Ensure the necessary infrastructure for the unit to deliver on objectives within the required framework
- Ensure that sufficient capacity is available to meet production requirements at all times
- Monitor the ongoing availability and efficiency of systems and technologies and ensure that these are integrated
Render human resource supervision
- Manage work of subordinate staff to ensure that productivity outputs are met
- Oversee the ongoing development to staff in line with PDPs and career paths
- Ensure that conduct and performance are properly documented and meet expectations
- Provide appropriate feedback and implement both recognition and rewards and corrective action as necessary
