DEPUTY DIRECTOR: REGISTRATION AND RECOGNITION

All Inclusive Salary package (R): R741 174

Objective: Please note that the correct Remuneration package is R741 174 per annum and not R699 796.10 as seen in the Sunday times, Mail & Guardian and Human Jobs online. A vacancy for a Deputy Director exists within the Directorate: Registration and Recognition for a person who will manage and co-ordinate the activities leading to the registration of qualifications and part-qualifications on the NQF. One of the core deliverables for the Directorate is the implementation of the NQF Act, Act 67 of 2008 (NQF Act) in terms of the registration of qualifications and part-qualifications.


Requirements are: The most eligible candidate should have an appropriate recognised Bachelor's degree (NQF level 7) or comparable qualification with at least three years' management experience in the education, training and development sector.
Qualifying candidates must be computer literate and have excellent report writing, presentation, negotiation, project management, monitoring and evaluation, communication, conflict resolution and research skills.
A further requirement is that candidates should have knowledge and understanding of the South African education and training system in general and the NQF Act in particular.
Duties : Ensuring the implementation of the policy and criteria for the registration of qualifications and part-qualifications on the NQF
Ensuring that an operational plan is developed and implemented for the Qualifications Unit in the Directorate and that only qualifications and part-qualifications that meet the policy and criteria requirements are registered on the NQF
Ensuring that all qualifications and part-qualifications recommended by the Quality Councils are prepared for the relevant SAQA Board committees
Providing stakeholders and social partners with the information they need in accordance with the agreed SAQA client service standards
Participating in conferences and seminars
Supporting the development of policy and guideline documents for public comment before implementation
Managing or conducting workshops that support the directorates role in respect of SAQA mandate
