Objective: A vacancy exists within the Directorate: International Liaison for a person who will assist the director to, lead and facilitate SAQA's role in the further development and implementation of a world class National Qualifications Framework (NQF) for South Africa through collaboration with international partners on matters concerning qualifications frameworks.

The most eligible candidate will have a qualification at NQF Level 7 or equivalent with at least three years of research experience including evidence of strong writing skills. Qualifications at NQF Level 8 and above will be an added advantage. Additional and related experience in supporting leadership and assisting to manage international projects, ability to work with senior officials from governments and international agencies, knowledge of current and emerging global trends and best practice related to qualifications and qualifications frameworks to strengthen the South African NQF, ability to identify and contribute to new and critical thinking related to qualifications frameworks, proven report writing ability, experience in project management, analytical skills, and international education systems. Knowledge of the NQF would be essential. |

Advance the development and implementation of a world class South African NQF Conduct research into and report on international comparability of qualifications Lead short-term projects and actively contribute to dissemination of findings in both local and international forums Participate in the preparation of position papers and briefing documents on a range of educational research issues internationally Participate in regional and international projects, including international travel where necessary |
