Objective: A vacancy exists within the Directorate: Information Technology for a person who will monitor and upgrade IT hardware and software; administer a multi-platform ICT environment; manage service level agreements with service providers; and manage IT Policies and Procedures

Eligible candidates will have a relevant qualification at NQF Level 6 or equivalent in the Information Technology field of study. Three years proven practical experience in maintaining local area network environments particularly where a Linux Server and Windows desktop operating systems are used. Knowledge of local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) in a Microsoft Windows and Linux environment is a must. IT Systems certification for example A+, Network+, MCSE, Cisco Certification, ITIL or COBIT will be to the candidate's advantage. Administration, problem solving, decision making, communication, analytical and presentation skills are further pre-requisites. |

Implement, monitor and upgrade multi-platform Information Technology systems (hardware & software): - Provide/install system(s) as and when required by users in terms of policy and procedures - Monitor system performance according to prescribed criteria Provide effective systems backup services and support - Oversee regular and routine backups on all relevant systems as per SAQA IT Policies and Procedures - Manage the Disaster Recovery Processes Manage service level agreements with external service providers - Ensure that vendors/service providers execute the required services and adhere to the agreed specifications and Service Level Agreements Provide user support - Provide ad hoc user support and training to enhance correct and optimal utilisation of system(s) - Ensure consistent adherence to SAQA IT and Network Security Policy by users |
