Objective: A vacancy exists within the Executive Office of SAQA for an Assistant Director: Secretariat who will assist with coordinating, planning, preparing and executing SAQA's Secretariat services to support SAQA's Board and its committees.

The eligible candidates must have a relevant NQF level 6 qualification or equivalent with at least three years experience in high level secretariat services. The candidate must have excellent minute writing skills, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, be able to organise and coordinate meetings, be self-motivated and have the ability to cope with pressure. The position demands a high level of proficiency in the use of MS Office programmes such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, especially with the editing and formatting of documents. Email and the use of the Internet are a prerequisite. Knowledge of King IV, governance matters, the NQF, Public Finance Management Act and project management will be beneficial attributes. The ability to manage risks and write reports will be an added advantage. |
Duties : |
The main duties in this position are to: - Draft minutes and agendas, and prepare meeting documentation for distribution to members of the Board and its Committees; - Provide the Board and its Committees with appropriate documentation, accurate records and logistics support to facilitate decision making; - Co-ordinate administrative and logistical arrangements for meetings of the Board and its Committees including travel and accommodation arrangements; - Provide support to the Deputy Director Secretariat; - Maintain an effective filing and document management system; and |
