DIRECTOR: FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

All Inclusive Salary package (R): R 1 154 954
Benefits: The successful candidate will qualify for a 13th cheque, housing, medical aid and pension allowance in the above total salary package.

Objective: A vacancy exists within SAQA for a person who will provide strategic leadership for the Finance Directorate, manage the operational function to ensure effective and professional accounting, reporting and control of SAQA funding and budgets and manage the administrative requirements of SAQA that support the operations


Requirements are: The most eligible candidate will be a qualified Chartered Accountant who has a minimum of five years experience in a senior financial or accounting managerial position.
She/he must have financial management, administrative, leadership, negotiation, communication, analytical and project management skills, and business acumen. An in depth knowledge of all finance legislation as required by Treasury like GAAP/GRAP, PFMA, PPPFA is an essential requirement.
Functional knowledge of the ACCPAC accounting software or any other accounting software package is an added advantage.
Knowledge of SAQA legislation will be an advantage.

Duties : Maintain an effective and efficient payment system to ensure effective cash flow management.
Maintain an effective salary administration service that complies with legislative and good governance requirements.
Develop, implement and maintain a procurement (Supply chain Management) policy and procedures in line with the PFMA and PPPFA.
Administer effective facilities management and maintenance service by developing and, implementing appropriate building management and maintenance policies and procedures
Manage staff to ensure that productivity outputs are met and provide on the job coaching, training and guidance as required.
Preparing for and overseeing both the internal and external audits.
