VERIFICATIONS PROJECT: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

All Inclusive Salary package (R): R509 851
Benefits: The successful candidate will qualify for a 13th cheque, housing, medical aid and pension allowance in the above total salary package.
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract: Until 31 March 2020
Objective: A vacancy exists in SAQA for an Assistant Director: Verifications to coordinate and contribute to the process flow that leads to the verifications of qualifications obtained at South African institutions, as submitted by verification clients (with particular emphasis on existing employees and potential applicants in the Public Service in South Africa).


Requirements are: The eligible candidate must hold an appropriate NQF Level 6 qualification or equivalent, plus a minimum of 2 years experience in data capturing and information management in a supervisory capacity.
The person must be computer literate (especially concerning databases and spreadsheets), understand information management, and have good communication skills.
Effective management of staff, time management, customer service, problem solving, attention to detail, team player, methodical should be the strengths of those aspiring for appointment.
The following will be advantageous: experience in working with large relational databases; experience in invoicing, budgeting and management of income and expenditure; experience in developing funding proposals; an understanding of the South African National Qualifications Framework; an understanding of higher education and training systems in South Africa; and an understanding of protocol in dealing with Government and other Educational institutions.
Duties : Process verifications
- Process verifications in accordance with processes and procedures
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in processing verifications
- Provide training to new staff members on verification processes
Maintain and foster client relationships
- Attend to standard client queries received via phone or email, in accordance with processes and procedures
- Attend briefings arranged by clients to address questions on verification-related matters
- Take on specific high risk clients at point of contact from the client for problem resolutions, and to engage on a regular basis with these clients
- Maintain professional working relationships with clients and monitor, track and report on communications and feedback to clients
- Ensure that the quality of service is maintained as per service level agreements and SAQA`s Client Standards
Communicate with information partners and source new information partners
- Contact existing information partners in accordance with set processes and procedures to ensure timeous delivery of service
- Source new information partners
- Update and maintain the Information Partner Communication Table
Supervise the processing of verifications undertaken by Verifiers (at Admin Officer and Admin Clerk levels)
