DEPUTY DIRECTOR: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

All Inclusive Salary package (R): R721 926

Objective: A vacancy exist within the Directorate of Information Technology for a person who will provide tactical leadership in the management of Information Technology systems as well as the delivery of service and support excellence to SAQA users with respect to the optimal use of the IT systems.


Requirements are: The most eligible candidate must be in the possession of an NQF level 7 qualification or the equivalent, in Information Technology, plus five years working experience in IT infrastructure administration or IT information systems management.
Three years’ experience in a management position is a prerequisite. Communication, problem solving, project management and service level management skills must be the strength of those aspiring for the appointment.
Exposure to a wide range of technologies, including LAN, WAN, and SAN is a prerequisite.
Experience of Microsoft and LINUX servers as well as virtualisation of servers and workstations is a further prerequisite.
Experience in call centre technologies, ITIL and COBIT will be an advantage.
Duties : • IT Governance, IT security, IT policies and procedures
• The SAQA information technology infrastructure and software systems in both Microsoft and Linux, and virtualization environments;
• The acquisition and implementation of IT systems or services;
• Digital information security;
• Development of ICT skills of the SAQA staff; and
• Service delivery and service excellence to SAQA users in respect of the optimal use of the IT systems and the IT staff in terms of performance and personal development.
