All Inclusive Salary package (R): R280 953

Objective: The National Learners’ Records Database (NLRD) is the electronic management information system of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). A vacancy exists within the NLRD Directorate for a Data Administrator, who will be part of the NLRD’s Data Loads Team that ensures that the NLRD receives and loads accurate and up-to-date information from a variety of data suppliers, such as SETAs, Professional Bodies and other bodies with large datasets that must be loaded onto the NLRD.


Requirements are: The most eligible candidate will hold an appropriate, recognised qualification at NQF level 5 or equivalent, and will have a minimum of two years’ proven experience in the field of data quality and information management.
Candidates must also be computer literate in a Windows environment, with keyboard and problem-solving skills, and MS Excel and MS Access skills will be a strong recommendation.
Attention to detail and accuracy, ability to identify and solve data problems, and communication skills (written and oral) must be the strengths of those aspiring to be appointed to this position.
Administration skills are a further prerequisite.
Experience with large databases and an understanding of the National Qualifications Framework will be advantageous.
A comprehensive competency assessment will be conducted for short-listed candidates.
Duties : Ensure accuracy, completeness and currency of the data on the NLRD, by:
- Communicating with data suppliers, and assisting them with the management of their data and the testing of their data prior to loading;
- Administering the batch-loading of completed data transmissions, according to existing procedures;
- Documenting all communications and activities concerning data transmission and loading;
- Contributing to the feedback reports and league tables drawn up for the data suppliers;
- Using the NLRD system to capture data and run standard NLRD reports; and
- Participating in specific data-loading projects within the NLRD Directorate.
