Objective: This vacancy exists within the Directorate: Recognition and Registration for a person who will provide strategic direction, intellectual leadership and management in the process of policy development and implementation to fulfill the Directorate's mandate. The core deliverable will be the implementation of the NQF Act in terms of the Registration of Qualifications and Professional Designations and the Recognition of Professional Bodies for the purposes of the NQF Act.

The most eligible candidate should have an appropriate recognised Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification (NQF level 7) plus five years management experience, preferably in the Education and Training sector. The incumbent must display the characteristics of a leader with clear vision and focused action. Decision making, problem solving, negotiation, presentation, written and verbal communication skills should be the strengths of those aspiring for appointment. Furthermore, the following will be distinctly advantageous: Knowledge of the Education and Training landscape and NQF legislation in particular, as well as exposure to Education and Training at policy level, broad experience of strategic engagement with key NQF partners and implementation of relevant legislation. |

Provide strategic and operational leadership including risk management for the achievement of the Directorates deliverables Ensure that all policies, processes and systems are in place for the recommendation and registration of qualifications, part-qualifications and professional designations as well as the recognition of professional bodies Ensure that all stakeholders and NQF implementation partners are informed of all relevant developments affecting them Manage staff and other resources such as finance, equipment and material. |
